GE Lighting Targets Hotel Industry

CLEVELAND GE Lighting is making available its online lighting tools (also known as “Wizards”) free of charge to websites designed for hospitality professionals. The lighting Wizards are Java-based utilities that allow the business trade, such as purchasing managers, interior designers or facility owners, to view the effects of different lighting configurations, perform energy audits and calculate their current lighting.

GE has developed one Wizard specifically designed for the hotel industry called the “Virtual Lighting Designer of Hotel Guest Room,” which enables visitors to experience the impact various lighting approaches have on a standard hotel room. Visitors to the site can choose the lighting scenario, and then instantly see the results by clicking “light it.” (1/24/01)
