DALLAS—G6 Hospitality, known for its economy lodging brands—Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada and Hotel 6 and Estudio 6 in Latin America—has opened its 1,400th Motel 6 property located in Crowley, LA.
Prompted by strong growth in the first quarter, ended March 31, the new property is part of 34 new locations opened during this time period, according to the company.
“Closing a strong first quarter was necessary to continue the expansion across all brands,” said Robert Palleschi, chief development officer of G6 Hospitality. “Our expansion strategy is anchored in maintaining solid franchisee relationships and building new ones as we introduce our portfolio of brands to new markets. We are making headwinds in both domestic and international markets, and are looking forward to a very successful year ahead.”
Most of the 34 franchised properties opened in Q1 in the U.S. and Canada are converted properties, while the venue in Rexburg, ID, is new-construction.
All of the new properties have elements of the Phoenix room design, which highlights modern components such as wood-effect flooring, platform beds and flat-screen TVs.
