ATHENS, GA— The Foundry Park Inn & Spa here recently completed installation of wireless high-speed Internet access in its facilities. StayOnline, a provider of 100% wireless Internet solutions for the hospitality industry, handled the project. The Foundry Park Inn & Spa sits on an historic 3.8-acre site at the edge of downtown Athens. Designed to replicate row houses built in the 1820’s, it also preserves on-site historical buildings from that time period. Richard Goodrum, vp/sales and marketing for Wesley Hospitality, the hotel’s management company, noted that StayOnline’s wireless solutions enabled the property to offer guests the latest technology while preserving the character of the historic structures. The Foundry’s Athens Steam Company Pub, 6,000-square-foot conference center and spa will provide guests with wireless Internet access. Guests will be able to surf the Internet at speeds 200 times faster than dial-up modems and without risk of drop-offs or stalled connections, according to StayOnline. Adjoining guestrooms will also be enabled with wireless access. The StayOnline system provides guest access through Plug & Play wireless EZAirâ devices for travelers’ laptops. For Foundry visitors, this means there is no configuration or reconfiguration required either before or after they attain their high-speed Internet access. The wireless system uses Wi-Fi technology, also called 802.11. It is powered by StayOnline’s proprietary GuestPass Server Solution.
