MONACO Ken Mc Culloch, founder of the Malmaison hotel chain, has created a brand new series of life-style hotels called Columbus Hotels. The first in this series and flagship property, The Columbus Monaco, opened on April 11 in the Principality of Monaco.

Formerly the Abela Hotel Monaco, the 185-room Columbus has undergone a recent $10 million renovation. Located just minutes from Monte Carlo, the hotel can host small meetings and features a fitness center, private beach, and tennis courts. (4/17/01)
