NEW YORK— A former part owner of more than 50 Days Inn hotels, Monty Hundley, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for defrauding a dozen creditors out of $100 million and for failing to pay taxes on $29 million in income. U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska imposed the prison term last week and ordered Hundley to pay $106 million in restitution to the creditors he defrauded and $5.4 million in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service. The judge also ordered Hundley to forfeit $44 million, an order that allows the United States to seize some of his assets.
