MIAMI—Miami-based Trust Hospitality has revealied that the former Islamorada Resort will complete its top-to-bottom transformation in December and change its name to Amara Cay Resort. Included in the resort’s rebranding is a new website that is now accepting reservations for travel beginning on Jan. 1, 2015.
“We are thrilled to introduce the new Amara Cay Resort to the Islamorada community and to travelers from around the world,” said Kara Lundgren, GM of the Amara Cay Resort. “This property has been a Florida Keys staple since the 1970s, and we are eager to preserve those memories while also elevating our guest experience to the highest levels. The new look and feel of the resort will echo the authentic feel of the island lifestyle our guests treasure.”
Amara Cay Resort’s 110 guestrooms and suites feature designs incorporating natural elements such as wood, rattan and dark tile. Each guestroom has a newly extended balcony with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding Florida Keys. The new guestrooms incorporate environmentally responsible elements such as LED lighting, improved thermostats, upgraded sinks and showers, and impact-resistant glass.
Amara Cay Resort will also open Oltremare Ristorante, a Mediterranean-inspired Italian restaurant, which will feature a 60-seat open setting that will flow into the lobby.
“The future is bright for the Islamorada Resort Company,” said Patrick Goddard, president & COO of Trust Hospitality. “The rebranding and multimillion-dollar renovation of Amara Cay Resort is just the beginning. It’s a new and exciting era for Islamorada, and we are thrilled to be a part of changing the landscape for locals and travelers alike.”
