BANGKOK— Five large Asian hotel and resort groups have joined forces in an online and offiline marketing agreement called the Asian Hotels Alliance (AHA). Thailand’s Dusit Hotels & Resorts, Taiwan’s Landis Hotels & Resorts in Taiwan, Hong Kong’s the Marco Polo Hotel Group, Singapore’s Meritus Hotels & Resorts, and Japan’s New Otani Hotels have combined their more than 70 hotels in almost every major Asian-Pacific city to create a cooperative marketing umbrella. A website has already been built for the group, www.asianhotelsalliance.com, giving users the ability to search for hotels in the group and book rooms directly online. Offline marketing initiatives include an AHA directory in every hotel room, an alliance loyalty program, and cooperation at industry trade shows. SOURCE: Newbytes
