NEW YORK— Mike Fiorentino has been named regional director – sales and marketing for Inter-Continental and Crowne Plaza Hotels in the company’s Northeast region, and will be based at the company’s flagship hotel here, Inter-Continental The Barclay New York. Prior to this appointment, Fiorentino— a 19-year industry veteran— was the New York-based national director – sales for the hotel’s parent company, Six Continents Hotels. This appointment marks Fiorentino’s return to the Inter-Continental The Barclay New York, previously serving as the hotel’s director of marketing from 1995-1998. Fiorentino also spent two years as svp – marketing for the New York Convention and Visitors Bureau (now known as NYC & Co.). Other positions and responsibilities for him over the years include those of sales manager/account director for Sheraton and Westin hotel brands and director of sales for The Plaza Hotel New York In his new role, Fiorentino will be responsible for leading the development and execution of all sales and marketing programs within the region to drive hotel-level revenue and room night sales. He is also slated to work with the company’s development and asset-management team to clarify brand and program requirements in support of brand-expansion efforts.
