FelCor’s Corcoran Draws IREFAC Kudos

NEW YORK— FelCor Lodging Trust President/CEO Tom Corcoran was named as this year’s recipient of IREFAC’s C. Everett Johnson Award, with the official honors taking place during a lunchtime ceremony at the 23rd Annual New York University Hospitality Industry Investment Conference here. Corcoran was presented with the award by Hilton Hotels’ Matt Hart and Smith Travel Research’s Randall Smith, apparently demonstrating in the process that a $2.7-billion merger (FelCor and MeriStar Hospitality Corp.) is likely to get the industry to sit up and take notice of ones efforts within and on behalf of the lodging industry. —Michael Billig
