CHICAGO Hollywood came to Chicago this morning when AH&LA honored outstanding members during its Stars of the Industry awards breakfast.
Scott Miller, president of Hyatt Hotels Corp., emceed the packed event, held here at the Chicago Hilton & Towers where AH&LA is winding down its annual conference today.
Among the awards, the prestigious 2001 Arthur Landstreet award, named after the founder of AH&LA s Educational Institute went to industry veteran Howard Feiertag. Feiertag, an educational fixture at Virginia Polytechnic Institute s department of hospitality and tourism management won the award for his “lasting impact on the quality of education and training in the hospitality industry.”
Renowned film critic Roger Ebert was also on hand to discuss the stars of another industry motion pictures. Attendees were given insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of this highly visible industry. (4/6/01) Stefani O Connor
