SANTA MONICA, CA— The Fairmont Hotel Santa Monica will begin renovating its 32 garden and poolside bungalows next month as part of the final phase of the hotel’s $18 million refurbishment. Virginia Ball of the Los Angeles-based VB Designs is handling the project. The 28 single and four bi-level structures will be remodeled one at a time. New desks, desk chairs, chaise lounges and patio umbrellas will be added. Existing wood and bamboo night tables, armoires, lounge and patio chairs, and outdoor tables will be refurbished and re-upholstered. Bungalows will retain their balconies and terraces, hardwood floors, oversized tubs and French windows. The bungalow renovation is slated for completion in January 2003.
