JLL Appoints Matthew Carter to Board of Directors
Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Matthew Carter as an independent, non-executive member of its board of directors, effective Nov. 23. He will serve on the board’s audit committee and its nominating and governance committee. He will initially serve a term that will expire at the company’s 2019 annual meeting of shareholders. Carter has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in cloud and digital technology, and enterprise networking. He is the CEO of Aryaka Networks Inc. Prior to Aryaka, Carter served as president and CEO at Inteliquent, which provides wholesale voice services for carriers and service providers. He also served in various roles at Sprint Corporation including president of Enterprise Solutions. Carter currently serves on the boards of NRG Energy Inc. and USG Corporation. He previously served on the boards of Inteliquent Inc. and Apollo Education Group Inc.
Outrigger Enterprises Group Appoints New SVP and General Counsel
Outrigger Enterprises Group has appointed Scott Miyasato as its SVP and general counsel, reporting to Outrigger Hotels and Resorts’ CEO Jeff Wagoner and serving as a member of the company’s executive team. Miyasato comes to Outrigger from Hawaiian Airlines, where he served as its associate general counsel with a focus on commercial transactions—including Hawaiian’s expansion into new routes and aircraft types. Prior to Hawaiian Airlines, Miyasato spent more than 10 years with the local law firm Cades Schutte LLP, and also served as general counsel for a medical device company.
The United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board Appoints Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s Kurt Ekert to Vice Chair
The United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board has appointed Kurt Ekert, president and CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, the global travel management company, to vice chair. He has more than 20 years of experience in global travel, tourism and technology. He was appointed president and CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel in April 2016, previously holding leadership and governance positions at Cendant, Continental Airlines, eNett, GTA, Orbitz Worldwide and Travelport. Ekert is currently a director of Passur Aerospace and the World Travel & Tourism Council, an advisor to Freebird Inc. and serves on the board of the UNGA Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children.
