ATLANTA— James Kacena, former vp/general counsel for development and acquisitions at InterContinental Hotels Group, has joined Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in its real estate group . He will practice within the Hospitality and Leisure Group and Caribbean Development Group. Kacena, a 26-year industry veteran, was with IHG or its predecessor companies for 18 years and was a division general counsel for the past 13 years. He also was involved in all hotel acquisition, joint venture and management agreements in which the company was involved in the Americas during the past decade.
