NEW YORK HOTEL BUSINESS. has learned that the planned European e-procurement alliance between Accor, Bass, Granada Compass, Hilton International and Whitbread has “quietly gone away,” according to Grant Hearn, managing director of Hilton UK & Ireland.

Hearn noted that Hilton pulled out of the arrangement first and that the other hotel partners soon followed suit.

As previously reported by HOTEL BUSINESS., the proposed B2B virtual marketplace would have brought together some of the leading players in the $152 billion european hotel industry for a neutral e-procurement alliance. (1/25/01) Diana M. Rodriguez
