MIAMI BEACH, FL— Eden Roc Miami Beach, a Renaissance Resort And Spa, has completed its $17 million renovation program that included a re-design of the resorts meeting space, fine dining and casual dining restaurants, and pool areas. The changes in Eden Rocs meeting space include new soft goods in the Cotillion and Mona Lisa ballrooms (The Grand Ballroom was redone in 1999), a major reconfiguration of the lower conference center level meeting space creating five new meeting rooms, a group office, and several new seating areas for pre- or post-meeting networking or relaxing. In addition, the resort will continue to offer a full-service business center and on-site car rental center. The main pool area was also redone. It now features oceanfront Jacuzzis, symmetrical fountains, new landscaping, new lighting, a new sound system, phone lines with T-1 lines, and an upgraded event space in the Spa Garden. Aquatica, the resorts new beachside restaurant is scheduled to open by end of January 2003 and will offer a casual lunch menu consisting of salads, soup, sandwiches and regional specialties, with the addition of steak and seafood dishes on the dinner menu. Guests may choose to dine alfresco overlooking beach or eat indoors. Eden Roc was originally designed and built in 1956 by architect Morris Lapidus. Today, Eden Roc is part of the Renaissance Hotels, Resorts & Suites brand owned by Marriott International.
