ST. LOUIS, MO— The Federal Reserve Bank’s $80 million development project proximate its building here is among a group of developments, including a Hilton Hotel, within a three-block area that is being dubbed the “East of Broadway” project. According to the American City Business Journals Inc., Drury Development is also continuing its redevelopment of the Merchants Laclede building into a Hilton Hotel, and the Lawrence Group is renovating the Security Building nearby. The Hilton project is a $16 million renovation by Drury Development Corp. of the 112-year-old Merchants Laclede building at 408 Olive into a 200-room Hilton Hotel, said the report, adding the facility will include a ground-level restaurant. The buildings historic original bank vaults are to be incorporated in the hotels lobby as a gift shop and Internet café, and the property will have 4,000 square feet of meeting space, it said.
