ORLANDO The 250-room, $30 million Westin Grand Bohemian is set to open here on April 19.
Hotelier Richard Kessler noted that the mid-April opening is just in time to miss out on the strongest quarter of the year for downtown Orlando hotels and comes at a time when many businesses are cutting back on travel.
Kessler, who owns several area hotels, expects his newest property to be hit hard during the first year, but rebound significantly in the long run. This is a forty-year investment, he said.
The new hotel will feature 9,600-square-feet of meeting space, a sixth-floor outdoor pool, a pair of grand pianos, and an upscale restaurant. (4/11/01)
