FORTUNA DE SAN CARLOS, COSTA RICA—Driftwood Hospitality Management is now managing the 50-room Arenal Lodge here, making it the company’s third property in Costa Rica.
The hotel joins the oceanfront Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa and San Jose’s city center Holiday Inn San Jose Downtown-Aurola.
“The number of international travelers to Costa Rica has increased substantially over the past few years, with a record 2.34 million in 2012. We see terrific value in growing our portfolio there,” said Carlos Rodriguez, EVP/Driftwood Hospitality Management.
Arenal Lodge’s location offers panoramic views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. The hotel offers guestrooms, suites and chalets along with an on-site restaurant, gift shop, outdoor pool, three heated Jacuzzis and a butterfly garden.
Guests may enjoy horseback riding across the 2,000-acre property, bird watching and hiking or book an array of day trips from the hotel, including canopy tours, waterfall and hot springs excursions and lake fishing trips.
“Increasing our presence in key markets like Costa Rica is the natural next step for Driftwood, as we look to expand our international footprint,” said Rodriguez.
