Doubletree Switch To Westin Set

PITTSBURGH At noon tomorrow, officials of Starwood Hotels & Resorts will join with representatives of Forest City Enterprises to official rechristen the downtown Pittsburgh Doubletree Hotel as the Westin Convention Center. The Westin/Starwood flag will be raised to formalize the transfer. The hotels entire staff, led by GM Joe Kane will continue to operate the 618-room hotel.

Forest City officials have already pledged a $10 million upgrade for the Westin Convention Center to be completed in time for the opening of the new David L. Lawrence Convention Center in 2003. (1/17/01)
