Doubletree Names Thomas GM

PLANO, TX— Tom Thomas has been named general manager of the 404-room Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center-Plano Legacy Town Center here. The property, which opened in the spring 2001, is certified by the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC). Thomas most recently served as assistant general manager/director of marketing of the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center. He also launched and operated many conference hotel properties across the United States, including the Lansdowne Conference Resort near Washington, DC; The Woodlands Executive Conference Center and Resort near Houston; and the Marietta Conference Resort in Marietta, GA; and Chateau Elan, Marriott Hotel Corp.s first full-service conference resort. Thomas has held key management positions with Hilton Hotels Corp., Dolce International, Sentry Hospitality, Benchmark Hospitality and Club Corporation of America. Additional experience includes the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, CA, and the Seasons Resort, NJ.
