TORONTO—DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown located near the city’s financial, research and shopping districts.
Now a part of Hilton Worldwide’s Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program, the former Metropolitan Hotel Toronto has completed a multi-million dollar renovation that will conclude in spring 2014 and includes modern updates across the 26-story, 486-room property. The hotel’s new ownership and management company, Bayview Hospitality Group, is leading the transformation.
“The opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown is a huge thrill for our brand, as it underscores DoubleTree by Hilton’s expanded presence in Canada with four new hotels in the country in just three months,” stated John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “With its central location and upscale offerings, this hotel is ideally-suited to accommodate both business and leisure guests in Toronto.”
DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown offers dining options such as Hemisphere’s Restaurant Bistro, which offers a combination of culinary styles and ingredients. Debuting a new food and beverage concept led by 30-year culinary veteran, Chef Raymond Cheung, menu offerings will include a range of gourmet meat and seafood such as seafood linguine with smoked coral sauce, cider glazed Atlantic salmon, smoked paprika marinated steak salad and garlic and thyme brined chicken. The secluded Chef’s Table Room provides a view of the show kitchen for small groups. For a more casual ambiance, Hemisphere’s Bar provides a setting for a glass of wine or cocktail.
