FRESNO, CA A 12-story, 350-room Wyndham Hotel may make a new dent in Fresnos downtown skyline if a Rhode Island development firm and Fresno property owners can make a deal with City Hall here.
Providence-based ALGEN Development and Construction LLC wants to build a $50-million, four-star hotel at M and Inyo Streets to anchor the citys exhibit hall, which opened in 1999.
Developers said they could open the proposed hotel in approximately two years if various parties reach an agreement within the next six months. The Fresno City Council, after hearing a 45-minute sales pitch on the projects possibilities earlier this week, agreed to negotiate a more specific deal during the next three weeks. (4/6/01)
