ROCKVILLE, MD— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned Destination Hotels & Resorts (DH&R) selected Avendra, LLC as its partner in providing procurement services. All DH&R properties will be migrating to the Avendra buying program in the next few months, the company said. The newly formed relationship is expected to save DH&R up to 10% on a wide selection of products including food and beverage, furniture and fixtures, rooms supplies, and engineering items. “We were impressed with Avendra’s ability to address the individualistic needs of our specific properties and their unique attributes,” said John Spomer, vice president/operations for Destination. “Each of our hotels, such as the Hotel del Coronado, is operated as its own business. By partnering with Avendra, each hotel will retain its proprietary purchasing while enjoying the benefits from a synergized procurement application and the advantages of aggregating expenditures,” he said. Avendra is one of the hospitality industry’s largest procurement services companies with nearly $2 billion in purchasing volume. —Shannon McMullen
