DENVER After struggling to find private funding for a hotel adjacent to Denver International Airport, city officials are looking at financing construction themselves, aided by a $95-million bond offering.
The joint effort between the city and Westin Hotels and Resorts to arrange private financing for the hotel has stalled, leading airport officials to decide whether to issue additional bonds to cover the cost of erecting the hotel. Officials say construction on the property could begin next year, and possibly open in 2003. (10/17/00)
