Denver Hotel Market Healthy

DENVER Hotel occupancies in the Denver area rose to an average of 68.2% in 2000, a 2.2% increase from the 66.7% average in 1999, even though supply rose by 5.7%, according to a study released by John Montgomery of Horwath Horizon Hospitality Consulting/Montgomery & Associates, based here. The average room rate rose to a record $91.15, slightly passing the previous record of $90.73 in 1999. (1/18/01) SOURCE:Denver Rocky Mountain News
