CORAL GABLES, FL? Splash Resorts, a new hotel and resort company, has big plans to change the all-inclusive concept. Carlos del Pino, chairman/ CEO of Splash and former founder of Allegro Resorts, created the company last fall with other former Allegro executives. His plan is to introduce the ?next level? of all-inclusives through this innovative new brand in the Caribbean, Mexico, Latin America and the United States. Splash Resorts is a subsidiary of Sequoia International Hospi- tality Corp., a global corporation that provides a range of products and services. Sequoia also owns Sequoia Hotels, Service Industry Global Consultants, Sequoia Development Co., and Serendipity Entertainment. Based on the company?s philosophy of ?Refresh Your Life,? Splash will own, operate and manage four- and five-star resorts with a vast offering of unique amenities and a strong focus on service. ?We intend to create a healthy, relaxed atmosphere in all of our resorts, where guests can do as much or as little as they choose, and expectations are consistently exceeded,? del Pino said. Resorts will cater to several consumer segments including families, honeymooners, couples and spa-goers. A strong focus on service and ?back to basics? mentality will prevail in Splash operations, according to del Pino. This will help meet the needs of all types of consumers, he said. Del Pino is currently looking for the first Splash resort. In order to wear the name, properties must be ranked a four-star resort or higher; have direct access to the beach; offer several themed food and beverage venues; plus have a minimum of two swimming pools, exercise facilities, children?s activities and spa services. Splash will obtain properties via joint venture developments, management contracts and acquisitions, according to del Pino. The business plan is to have 10 hotels within the first five years of operation. Other top executives at the firm are Ken Wilson, president/COO of Sequoia, formerly vp/operations for Allegro; and Kevin Wojceichowski, Sequoia evp and former vp/sales and marketing for Allegro. After Splash is established, del Pino said sister company Sequoia Hotels will become Splash?s urban counterpart. The company plans to build a portfolio of all-inclusive city/business hotels.
