Danziger Resigns As Pres/COO Carlson Hotels

MINNEAPOLIS HOTEL BUSINESS. has learned that Eric Danziger will resign from his role as president/COO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide, effective May 9.

A spokesperson for Carlson Hospitality said that Danziger s reasons for leaving the company were “personal,” and that he wanted to relocate to San Francisco to be with his family. Eric is a native of San Francisco and has decided to return to California where his family resides.

Curtis Nelson, president/CEO of Carlson Hospitality Worldwide sent out a letter to all company employees today to break the news which said: “We are appreciative of Erics leadership of the Carlson Hotels organization during the past three years and the inspiration he has provided in building and developing our hotel brands. As Eric ends his life-long career in the hotel industry, we wish him all the best for success and happiness as he begins a new chapter in his life.”

Danziger served as president of Carlson Hotels for three years. While at Carlson, Danziger helped grow the Regent International, Radisson Hotels and Country Inns & Suites hotel brands. In addition, he helped develop an alliance with Olympus Hospitality, under which Carlson drives the franchising growth of Park Inns and Park Plaza hotels.

No replacement for Danziger has been named by Carlson Hotels at this time. Regarding the executive slot, Nelson said: “As we search for a replacement for this position, the presidents of the hotel brands and leaders of key support departments will report directly to me.” (4/20/01) Ruthanne Terrero
