MCLEAN, VA— Crestline Hotels & Resorts was selected to manage the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center, adjacent to Illinois State University, that is scheduled to open in early 2005. The 150-room full-service hotel is an integral part of the redevelopment plans in downtown Normal, IL. In addition to the hotel, the Downtown Redevelopment Plan will include a $20 million multi-modal transportation facility, over 200,000 square feet of new office space, a 25,000 square foot childrens discovery museum and major road improvements. The hotel will be built around the 400-seat Normal Theater, a 1930s Art Deco movie house that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Dave Durbin, President and CEO of Crestline Hotels & Resorts, stated, ” We were selected by Illinois State University and the Town of Normal because of our outstanding track record in this specific niche.” In addition to the portfolio of university hotels it currently manages, Crestline Hotels & Resorts has signed new agreements to manage hotels near Georgia Tech and Texas A&M University.” The 150-room Sheraton Hotel will include a state of the art conference facility with the following amenities: 12,000 square feet of meeting space with high-tech audio visual capabilities, approximately 5,000 square feet of street level retail space, an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center.
