PERORIA, IL—The newly remodeled Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette recently opened following a $44-million overhaul.
Closed for the last year while undergoing restoration, the original 1927 Hotel Pere Marquette now includes a complete interior remodel, new parking deck and pedestrian skywalk bridge that connects the hotel to the Peoria Civic Center.
The hotel features the famous Presidential Suite, which has remained intact. The room, once occupied by Martin Luther King Jr., Richard Pryor, President John F. Kennedy and President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan, includes historic wood paneling and a hidden liquor cabinet behind the fireplace.
The 286 guestrooms now include custom bedding with down comforters, custom duvets, cotton-rich linens and feather pillows. Guests also will find modern-day conveniences such as irons and ironing boards, AM/FM alarm clocks, hairdryers, coffeemakers and luxury bath products.
The hotel features the all-new Table 19 for modern American fare. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and uses many local, farm-raised products.
