LONDON Compass Plc said first-half profits rose 76% as the company seeks to focus on its catering business.
The group is said to be in the “final stages” of selling the Le Meridien hotel chain, the last of its hotel assets it previously announced it would be selling.
Executives at the company said that sales beat analysts expectations as the company retained 95% of its contracts following its combination with the food services unit of Granada Group Plc. (5/22/01)
