MONTREAL— Internet management software provider i-Hotel International, a Montreal-based firm, has now deployed Colubris Networks’ secure wireless LAN products at 70 properties throughout Canada. The wireless LAN system is designed specifically for the hospitality industry and combines Colubris’ secure wireless Access Points technology with i-Hotels’ Wireless Internet Management System. At the Best Western Europa in Montreal, the hotel-wide, high-speed wireless network will be used to provide multiple guest services. For example, within the next month, guests will be able to use their room key card as a mode of payment in the hotel. Their information will be sent wirelessly to the front desk for billing. Furthermore, within the next year, the hotel will have the Internet, its key cards and its telephones all running on the same wireless network.
