PARIS Club Med has launched a new brand called OYYO, aimed at young adults who are hungry for leisure and adventure in sports and music and who share the same values of friendliness, freedom and a taste for something new.

A spokesperson for Club Med said that the launch of the new brand is an attempt to bring Club Med back to its original village concept.

The brand, which will be supported by a team of 16 in Paris, will present a new way of enjoying sports and partying with complete freedom. OYYO properties will offer uninterrupted partying with discos and resident DJs at the properties, according to Club Med.

The first OYYO property will open next May in Bikalta, Tunisia, with 850 bungalows.

The Tunesia OYYO will be followed by more openings in the next five years, with a geographical focus on the Mediterranean Rim, which still has a wealth of sites to develop and limited transport costs, according to Club Med.

At the Tunisia property, accommodations will be in the form of bungalows on piles, made out of wood and with solar panels, according to Club Med. (3/2/01)
