ROCKVILLE, MD—Christine M. Shanahan has joined HVS Design as director of design. Shanahan brings more than 20 years of professional design experience to the firm. As director of design, she will oversee and manage the staff of designers, as well as be hands-on with creating designs for the HVS’ numerous hospitality projects. Shanahan will be based out of the company’s Rockville, MD office, just outside of Washington, DC.

“We are excited to have Christine as a member of our team. Her outstanding reputation and superior talent make her a welcome addition,” said Jonathan C. Nehmer, managing principal of HVS Design. “HVS Design has grown tremendously since it was founded 13 years ago and we look forward to Christine working with us as the company continues to expand.”

Prior to joining HVS Design, Shanahan served as project director for J/Brice International as well as ran her own full-service interior design firm, Studio East Design. In addition to hospitality, Shanahan has extensive experience with commercial, industrial, health care, assisted living and residential projects.

HVS Design is currently working on several hospitality projects across the country including the Westin Hotel in Wilmington, DE; the Hyatt Place in Southwest Washington, DC; and EVEN Hotel in Norwalk, CT.
