SILVER SPRING, MD—As part of an organizational shift, Choice Hotels Internationals board of directors has named company CEO Charles Ledsinger Jr. vice chairman and promoted CFO/EVP-operations Joseph Squeri to president/COO. Ledsigner will retain his CEO title and focus further on Choice’s business strategies, including growth objectives, initiatives to enhance profitability for the company’s franchisee base and innovations to drive growth through expansion. He also will oversee the companys real estate functions, as well as departments such as finance, legal, human resources and administration. Squeri will have accountability and operating responsibility for the company’s entire franchising operation. The board of directors also promoted several other Choice executives. Michael DeSantis moved from general counsel to svp/senior strategic advisor and corporate secretary; assistant general counsel Paul Mamalian moved to general counsel; controller David White is now CFO; and Scott Oaksmith, who was assistant controller is now controller.
