SILVER SPRING, Md.? Choice Hotels International recently appointed Bruce McKenzie vice president for the Asia/Pacific region, company officials announced. McKenzie will be based in a new Choice office in Singapore, which will open this spring. He will oversee development services as well as sales and marketing for Choice?s International brands operating under Comfort, Quality, Clarion and Sleep In throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand. McKenzie previously served as an area managing director for 12 Starwood Hotels and Resorts properties throughout Indonesia. He also served as a gm for the 423-room Sheraton Wentworth Hotel in Sydney, Australia. McKenzie will be supported by his Asia Pacific team which includes Fuji Fujimura, vp/Japan Business Development, Edwina Korallus, vp/sales and marketing, Asia Pacific, Barry Robinson, franchise services director, Asia and New Zealand, Brian Ebbs, franchise services director, Australia and Ray Asad, project manager, Flag Choice Hotels integration. The sales and marketing head office will continue to be based in Sydney. The Singapore office will be the main point of contact for hotel development and franchise services.
