CHICAGO— A bevy of Hilton Hotels Corp.’s top executives— as well as a number of local company executives and area business/civic leaders— are slated to turn out for next week’s ribbon-cutting ceremonies that will mark the “official” opening of the new 455-suite Embassy Suites Hotel Chicago Downtown – Lakefront. Among the Hilton Hotels dignitaries scheduled to be on hand are: President/CEO Stephen Bollenbach; President/Hotel Operations, Owned & Managed Dieter Huckestein; President/Brand Performance & Franchise Development Group Tom Keltner; SVP/Operations, Embassy Suites Hotels David Greydanus; and SVP/Embassy Suites Hotels Mark Snyder. Also slated to take part in the grand-opening ceremonies are Daniel McLean, president/CEO of MCL Cos. (developer of the hotel as well as of River East Center), and hotel General Manager Steve Jung. Open for business since August 15, the new hotel is located near Navy Pier and is reportedly viewed as the cornerstone of the upscale billion-dollar, two-million-square-foot River East Center mixed-use complex.
