ALSIP, IL— A $3 million expansion is under way at the Radisson Hotel Alsip in the Chicago area that will more than double its space for meetings, training sessions and banquets. The expansion effort is the result of what the hotel sees as a demand in its market, as the 193-room hotel has had to turn away business in the past, said GM Kevin Morrey. The 11,250-square-foot expansion will give the property a total of almost 20,000 square feet of remodeled and new space. “Flexibility is key in this expansion,” Morrey said. “Were adding three large sections to our ballroom, expanding three other rooms and totally remodeling our current three function rooms. We will have a total of nine rooms to combine into a variety of configurations for clients.” The Radisson has additional meeting rooms and an executive boardroom that will also be remodeled.
