CHANDLER, AZ— The former Park Plaza hotel here has been converted to the Radisson Phoenix-Chandler. The 159-room hotel is owned by Hospitality Properties Trust (HPT), a real estate investment trust. The conversion and $4-million renovation at the hotel began in early 2005 when Carlson Hotels Worldwide first assumed management responsibilities at the property. The Radisson Phoenix-Chandler features select guestrooms equipped with the custom-designed Sleep Number bed thats further accessorized with an upscale bedding package. Each room has complimentary high-speed Internet access, a full-length mirror, an iron, an ironing board, a hairdryer and a coffeemaker. The hotel also offers a restaurant, pool, whirlpool and fitness center as well as flexible meeting space designed to meet the needs of all types of groups.
