Cendant Makes Executive Changes

NEW YORK Cendant Corp. has appointed Mark Miller, currently Avis Group president of the Vehicle Management Services Group, to the position of president/COO of Cendants Travel Division, subject to completion of the Avis transaction. Under this new Cendant post, Miller will assume additional responsibilities within the company, including hotel franchising and the travel agency. Eric Pfeffer, president of Cendants Hotel Division will now report to Miller.

The company also announced that John Osborne has been named chief sales and development officer for Cendants Travel Division. Osborne will oversee hotel franchise sales and support the vacation intervals sales efforts after the companys expected acquisition of Fairfield Communities.

Additionally,Samuel Katz has been named senior evp/strategic and business development, a new position with the company. As Cendants chief strategic officer, Katz, who currently heads Cendant Internet Group (CIG), will continue to oversee CIG and will take on additional responsibilities for mergers and acquisitions and the companys Preferred Alliances business.

Finally, Cendant also promoted David Wyshner from svp to the position of evp/finance, planning & development. In this role, Wyshner will be responsible for several key finance functions including budgeting, capital planning and analysis of Cendants central business plans. In addition, he will handle due diligence investigation and integration planning for potential acquisitions and other strategic transactions. (1/18/01)
