NEW YORK— In an effort to expand its clout in the New York area, CB Richard Ellis, a large commercial brokerage, has named a pair of executives to top posts in the New York region. Mary Ann Tighe, formerly the top New York metropolitan-area broker and vice chairman at Insignia/ESG, was named chief executive CB Richard Ellis. Cherrie Nanninga, the former director/real estate for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, joins CB Richard Ellis as the new COO. The appointments signal that CB Richard Ellis is getting serious about the New York region, according to a recent report on crainsny.com. Although it is one of the largest real estate services firms in the world, it is a relatively small player in the New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester and Connecticut. Tighe has been given more than $120 million to spend on improving the firm’s talent and technology, and finding new office space before the firm’s Lexington Ave. lease expires next year.
