VIRGINIA BEACH, VA— The Cavalier Hotel, which opened on April 5, 1927 and has seen countless Hollywood personalities and seven United States presidents pass through its doors, is offering special room rates and other incentives to mark its 75th anniversary this year. For example, every 75th reservation receives a free room for reservations made May 24-August 29; however, reservations must be made by telephone and the offer is not valid for walk-ins, Internet or other faxed reservations. In addition, special packages will offer non-transferable $75 “Cavalier Bucks,” valid for hotel charges, with the exception of room rate, parking fees, gratuities and phone calls during the guests stay. Other packages will also be available. “These special rates and incentives are our way of saying thank you to a very loyal clientele that has helped keep the Cavalier on the map, said Cliff Myers, director/sales and marketing. The Cavaliers 18-acre property has two hotels, including the original Cavalier On the Hill, which is open to overnight guests during the high summer season, and the more modern Cavalier On the Ocean. With 400 guestrooms, in-season guests have access to five restaurants, recreational activities and an expanded beachfront that’s part of an ongoing expansion effort spearheaded by the City of Virginia.
