CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CA—Carmel Boutique Inns, owned by Denny LeVett, has acquired two additional hotels here, bringing the company’s portfolio to six properties.
The hotels are the Monte Verde Inn and Casa de Carmel, both located four blocks from Carmel Beach.
Carmel Boutique Inns now offers an array of hotels, including the 1929 Cypress Inn (co-owned with iconic actress Doris Day) and cottages at Forest Lodge.
Crystal Petersson, general manager of Cypress Inn, will function as general manager of the two new properties as well.
Set for a soft renovation this winter, the 10-room Monte Verde Inn features a Spanish-Mediterranean exterior set in white adobe with timber trim. Guestrooms feature a mix of full kitchens, skylights, marble bathrooms and balconies with select ocean views. New hardwood floors, updated fixtures and furnishings will round out the renovation.
The streamlined Casa de Carmel has seven guestrooms with polished hardwood floors, premium bedding, select claw-foot bathtubs and ocean views.
“We’re pleased to add these two properties back into the Carmel Boutique Inn’s portfolio,” said LeVett, who previously owned both properties up until 2008. “This addition enables us to offer a diverse lineup of traveler options while keeping them [under]the family umbrella.”
