NEW YORK Maritz, Wolff & Co., an investment group that owns 17 luxury hotels, has bought the Carlyle hotel for $130 million. The company plans to make the hotel its flagship property.
The Carlyle will not undergo any major renovations and will keep its name. The hotel was put on the market in March 1999 by Jerome Greene who bought the property in 1967 for $15.5 million. (1/4/01)
