SHANGHAI, CHINA—Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group revealed at the China Hotel Investment Conference plans to triple its number of hotels in the country to more than 50 in the next four years.
Carlson Rezidor has 14 hotels currently in operation in China, where it plans to introduce two new brands, Quorvus Collection, a curated set of luxury hotels, and Radisson Red, an upscale lifestyle select brand that appeals to the Millennial-minded traveler, according to the company.
“We have an over 20-year history in China, and increasing our footprint in the country is an integral part of our growth strategy in Asia Pacific,” said Thorsten Kirschke, president, Asia-Pacific, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “In addition to the 50 hotels we plan to have in operation by 2019, we are moving forward aggressively to grow our presence and expand our pipeline in China further to deliver an even stronger growth trajectory.”
Members of the Quorvus Collection include G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh, The Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait and The May Fair in London. Radisson Red is a hotel concept inspired by technology, art, music and fashion. Carlson Rezidor signed the first hotel for the brand in late 2014—Radisson Red Shenyang Hunnan, which is scheduled to open in 2016. The Park Inn by Radisson brand is slated to enter China in 2016, with the signing of the 200-room Park Inn by Radisson Libo located at the entrance of Xiqikong National Park in the Guizhou province.
