VIRGIN GORDA, BVI— Biras Creek Resort on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands has completed its multi-million dollar refurbishments in time for the start of the winter season on Oct. 28. The hotel has added a new Massage Hut on the beach and new furniture, fabrics, technical accoutrements and toiletries to its guestrooms and restaurants. Natural, custom-designed and hand-printed fabrics in aquatic and tropical floral themes are used in nine Garden and 21 Ocean Guest Suites for bed coverings and linens, window treatments, upholstery and wall hangings. Terra cotta lamps compliment locally handcrafted wooden trunks and shelves and the special-order rattan furniture from Indonesia. The two Grand Suites sport new terra cotta tile floors, hand-painted fabrics on beds and windows and re-designed oversized bathrooms. In addition, the Premier Suite features Eddie Bauer-designed rattan and teak furniture throughout. All accommodations are appointed with Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, Sony CD Players and natural cotton Balinese-style kimonos that guests can take home with them.
