CALGARY, CANADA Canadian Pacific Limited intends to divide the company into five separate entities, all of which will be publicly traded. The reorganization is designed to maximize value for Canadian Pacific shareholders, said company executives.

Under the proposed reorganization, Canadian Pacific intends to distribute its approximately 86% investment in PanCanadian Petroleum and its 100% interest in each Canadian Pacific Railway, CP Ships, and Fording to holders of Canadian Pacific s common shares. After the distribution, Canadian Pacific Hotels will be the company s only significant business. (2/13/01)
