TROY, MI—Through its subsidiary Met Hotel Partners LLC, New California Hotels Corporation recently announced plans to modify the 17-acre, 200-room Met Troy Hotel. Renovations will begin June 2013, and the hotel is scheduled for completion in April 2014.
New improvements to the hotel will include a 35,000-sq.-ft. retail center facing the property and a 500-seat amphitheater for performing arts centered in the hotel courtyard. A new five-diamond restaurant and name for the hotel is under consideration.
“We are excited about the recent upswing in the Detroit area economy,” Remo Polselli, CEO of New California Hotels Corporation, said in a statement. “We know what the city needs in this area, more retail, dynamic tenants and a fine dining restaurant and amphitheater that can make this site a real model of development for the citizens of Troy.”
