CA Tourism Conference Set For Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH, CA Themed Continuing the Vision, Renewing the Voice, the 2001 California Conference on Tourism, sponsored by the California Travel Industry Association (CalTIA) and California Tourism, will be held at the Hyatt Newporter from March 26 through 28.

More than 550 community leaders and tourism professionals from throughout California are expected to attend the three-day conference to learn about the latest information regarding changes and technologies important to tourism. The Southern California locale marks the first time in a decade that the conference has been held outside Sacramento.

Tourism is a $75.4 billion industry in California, generating $4.9 billion in tax revenues. (3/23/01)
