SACRAMENTO, CA— John Campbell, president of the California Hotel and Lodging Association sent a call to action to its members yesterday, Sept. 11, following the tragic terrorist attacks in the U.S. The association recommended that hotels establish a policy for dealing with stranded travelers. The recommendations included the following: — For those travelers who were scheduled to depart Sept. 11 but who became stranded and for those travelers who had no reservations but need accommodations, the CH&LA recommended offering discounts without restrictions. — For those guests who needed to check out early, the CH&LA recommended waiving early departure fees.
