PHOENIX—The BW Premier Collection, Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ soft brand, has added the Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Rico to its collection of international lodging properties.
The Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa is located on the southwestern side of Puerto Rico in Caña Gorda, Guánica, 90 miles away from the City of San Juan. The Dry Forest in the north and Caribbean Sea in the south, stretching over 20-acres of tropical gardens, surround this beachfront property.
The 106-room resort has undergone a $1.6 million renovation of its public spaces, facilities and guestrooms. The ocean-front hotel’s amenities include two resort-style pools and two children’s pools, an al fresco restaurant and an indoor fine dining restaurant featuring Puerto Rican cuisine.
The AAA 3 Diamond resort also has a full-service spa, tennis courts, exclusive access to Gilligan’s Island on a private boat from the hotel’s dock, non-motorized aquatic sports including kayaks, paddleboards and diving. In addition, the resort has over 4,000 sq. ft. of indoor space for events and weddings.
“We chose to join the BW Premier Collection because of our existing successful partnership with Best Western. We opened the Best Western Plus Condado Palm Inn & Suites two years ago and feedback from our guests and the level of bookings have been tremendous; in the first quarter of 2015 our bookings achieved 98% occupancy—the highest in San Juan,” said José M. Suárez, president, International Hospitality Enterprises.
The Copamarina Beach Resort and Spa joins Best Western’s BW Premier Collection, which includes BW Premier Collection The Richmond, Liverpool, England; BW Premier Collection Winchester Royal Hotel, Winchester, England; BW Premier Collection Hotel Milton Rimini, Rimini, Italy; BW Premier Collection Master Johan Hotel, Malmo, Sweden; and BW Premier Collection Pop House Hotel, Stockholm, Sweden.
David Kong, Best Western president and CEO, stated, “The BW Premier Collection is beneficial for our guests and independent hoteliers. Best Western guests have more choices for city center and resort hotels at which to earn and redeem Best Western Rewards points and independent hoteliers will benefit from the powerful $4.1- billion global distribution channels of Best Western International.”
